CALLING ALL ERDING BADMINTON PLAYERS!
Whether you are a casual or serious Badminton player we have something
to suit you. Our Badminton club is open to players of all ages and abilities
and is divided into the following categories:
Spare Time: This section is aimed at people who want to combine keeping
fit with making new friends. We have men and women from different walks
of life who regularly join us in order to keep fit and stay healthy. The
classes are designed to improve overall health - but not too strenuously!
Team Badminton: This section is intended
for the more serious Badminton player. It is aimed at players who would
like to improve their game and perhaps play competitively. At the moment,
our club has 1 senior team that compete in the Bezirksklasse B Nordeast
Badminton League.
The club has two qualified coaches - one female & one male. Before
we play some serious Badminton, one of the coaches will take the class
through a variety of exercises that are specifically designed to warm
up the body and at the same time improve Badminton technique.
Children and Teenagers: We aim to
provide a fun atmosphere in which children and teenagers can keep fit,
receive Badminton training and use up some of the endless energy that
kids seem to have.
The classes start before the adult training session and are fully supervised
by a qualified coach. The classes are designed for overall fitness, but
are also Badminton orientated in the hope that the child will take up
the sport competitively. This has proved to be a successful section. We
now have two youth teams, comprising different age groups, and both teams
have represented the club at tournament level.
Of course, Badminton training is the main focus of our club and we pride
ourselves on the standard of play you will find - but we also place the
same emphasis on having fun. Amongst other things, the following activities
are arranged:
- Barbecues
- Mountain/hill walking
- Ski tours
- Bicycle tours
- Summer parties
And, in order to replace the fluids lost during play, we often go for
an apres-Badminton beer . . . .
We look forward to seeing you soon.
